Mumbai, Oct 14 (IANS) Hosts India face a strong challenge as China will be among the top nations to feature in the India Junior and Cadet Open Table Tennis Championships that begin at the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) here Tuesday.
Hong Kong, Iran, United Arab Emirates and Nigeria are the other countries who have confirmed their participation.
The tournament is part of the prestigious ITTF Global Junior Circuit and is being held under the auspices of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and organised by the Mumbai City District Table Tennis Association.
The field will feature 50 international and domestic future champions. Boys and girls will compete in 12 team and individual events.
The championship is being hosted at the newly inaugurated multi-sports arena at the NSCI, a state of the art facility with a seating capacity of 5,000 people and 45,000 sq feet of playing area.
