New Delhi, Aug 12 (IANS) The Indian football team were held to a goalless draw by second division champions club Casa Pia AC in their fifth practice match in Portugal at Casa Pia Ground in Lisbon.

According to information received here, Sunil Chhetri’s return did boost the national team Wednesday, but even the Kansas City Wizards striker failed to net a winner.

India started cautiously and did impress with midfield combining well with the strikers, but failed to produce any goal as the first half score line read 0-0.

India had the best chance in the first half when a Casa Pia defender made a goalline save off a N.P Pradeep header from Renedy Singh’s flag kick.

After the breather, N.S. Manju was brought in for Anthony Pereira. Rahim Nabi was pushed on to the right flank, with Manju playing as the left wing back.

India started off with Subrata Pal in the goal, while Surkumar Singh, Gouramangi Singh, Anwar and Rahim Nabi were the four first choice defenders.

Pereira took charge of the right flank, with Renedy and Pradeep in the midfield and Clifford Miranda on the left flank. Abhishek Yadav and Chhetri were the two strikers.

India will next play Real Massama SC at the Massama Ground.
