Sydney, Jan 25 (Inditop.com) Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Aamer may not play in the remaining three one-dayers against Australia as he appears to have aggravated his groin injury.

Confirming that Aamer, who missed the second One-day International at Adelaide Sunday, has been dogged by the groin problem, Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam said he is unlikely to figure in the remaining three one-dayers against the hosts.

“Aamer is doubtful for the remaining matches because of the groin problem,” said Intikhab.

“He had a similar problem during the Test series. He has a torn muscle in the groin and needs treatment.”

Intikhab said the seriousness of the injury will be known after the team management receives the MRI reports.

Aamer, 17, has become one of Pakistan’s strike bowlers in less than a year, having made his debut against Sri Lanka in the summer. He has collected 23 wickets from 13 One-day Internationals at 21.17.

In the first Test in Melbourne, he bagged his first five-wicket haul, but missed the second in Sydney owing to the groin injury.

Aamer’s injury has complicated matters for Pakistan as there is still no word on Mohammad Asif’s thumb injury.
