Kolkata, Nov 2 (IANS) Bengal’s rich musical legacy will be evident when Sachin Tendulkar weaves his magic on spectators at the Eden Gardens here for the last time next week, courtesy 11 songs composed by a city-based artist as a farewell tribute.

Singer Piloo Bhattacharya’s album titled “We Miss You Sachin” has been endorsed by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and includes seven Bengali and four Hindi songs sung by eight other singers besides Bhattacharya.
“This is the first time that a music album in India has been produced on a single sportsperson with so many songs. CAB has decided to distribute the album copies during the match at a discounted price. The songs will be played on loudspeakers as well,” Bhattacharya told IANS.
“A team of 26 people have worked for this album. Utpal Das is the lyricist of the Bengali songs and Rakesh Tripathy for the Hindi songs.”
Tendulkar had earlier announced that the two Test series against the West Indies will be his last. He will play his 199th Test at the Eden Gardens here from Nov 6-10 and his farewell match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai Nov 14-18.
