Visakhapatnam, Sep 2 (IANS) Middle order batsmen Corey Anderson and Anton Devcich struck centuries to push New Zealand A to 300/8 after India A struck early on day one of the second unofficial Test at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium here Monday.
Electing to bat first, the visitors were down 43/4 after Indian pacers rocked the New Zealanders’ boat.
But Anderson (100) and Devcich (115) struck a 165-run partnership for the fifth wicket, helping their side get past the 200-mark.
After the left-handed Anderson got out (208/5), Devcich anchored the innings and took them closer to 300. However, the southpaw kept running out of support and finally got out to Jalaj Saxena.
Dhawal Kulkarni and Saxena took two wickets each while Shrikant Wagh, Imtiaz Ahmed and Rakesh Dhurv settled for one apiece.
