Shimla, Sep 1 (Inditop.com) It’s again time to test both man and machine to the ultimate in the most rugged and inhospitable terrain of the trans-Himalayas.

More than 200 participants will traverse the mighty Himalayas during the 11th edition of one of the world’s toughest motor rally – ‘Raid-de-Himalaya’.

The eight-day rally would be flagged off from this Himachal Pradesh capital Oct 5, an official statement said Tuesday.

The 3,000-km rally would pass through Manali, Kaza, Patseo, Leh and Kargil before culminating at Leh in Jammu and Kashmir. It will cross cold deserts of Lahaul and Spiti and Ladakh districts.

The Himalayan Motorsport Association, which is conducting the rally, is a member of the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India. It has been organising the rally since 1999.

The rally features on the international off-road rallies calendar of the Federation of International Motorsport, Geneva.

Suresh Rana and Ashish Moudgil won the 10th edition of ‘Raid-de-Himalaya’ in the car and bike categories, respectively.
