Gurgaon, Dec 11 (Inditop.com) Pakistan’s Matloob Ahmed Rana emerged winner at the Aircel-PGTI’s Final Qualifying Stage for the 2010 season at the Golden Greens Golf and Country Club here Friday.

Rana (73, 73, 70, 70) totalled two under 286 for the tournament after he fired two under 70 in the final round. Rana’s compatriot Muhammad Siddique (70, 72, 75, 70) finished second with an overall score of one under 287.

Karanjit Singh Sandhu (67, 76, 69, 76) of the DLF Golf and Country Club grabbed third place after finishing with an overall score of even par 288. Club-mate Mohd. Yamin was a further stroke behind in fourth place.

The top 42 players from the Final Qualifying Stage earned full cards for the 2010 Aircel-PGTI season.

Rana’s fourth round of two under 70 included birdies on the sixth, ninth, 13th, 16th and bogeys on the 15th and 17th.

Rana said: “This is a very important victory for me. It will give me a lot of confidence for the 2010 season. I hope to build on this performance and scale greater heights in the next season.”
