Mysore, Nov 9 (IANS) Karnataka took a vital 60-run first innings lead over Jharkhand to assure themselves of vital points by stumps on the third and penultimate day of the Group A Ranji Trophy league match here Saturday.

Replying to Jharkhand’s first innings total of 364, Karnataka declared at 424 for seven with a clutch of half-centuries up and down the order, led by opener Mayank Agarwal (90, 144b, 12×4, 1×6) as the hosts showcased their batting might.
In their second knock, Jharkhand were four without loss and intent on denying Karnataka a possible outright victory on the final day Sunday.
