Rome, Sep 30 (DPA) Serie A side Roma presented plans for the new
Franco Sensi stadium, which will be built on the western outskirts of
Rome.
La Repubblica quoted President Rosella Sensi as saying that his
father, who died in 2008 and in whose honor the stadium will be
named, “waited for this moment since he took over the club (in
1993).”
The two-level structure is expected to hold 55,000 spectators and
should yield Roma an income up to four times higher than the Stadio
Olimpico, which the red-yellows share with the other Roma side Lazio.
Construction should last about two years once it begins, with the
club not saying how much it would cost.
