New Delhi, Nov 15 (IANS) Thailand’s Kamonwan Buayam, the top-ranked player in the qualifying draw of the $50,000 QNET Open International Tennis Federation (ITF) Women’s tournament, registered a 7-6 (3), 6-2 victory over Indian Sai Samhitha Chamarti here Sunday.
But India’s Nishtha Dudeja beat Nidhi Chilumula 6-0, 6-0 while Rishika Sunkara defeated Nikita Bishnoi 6-0, 6-0.
Shweta Rana, the other Indian who has been seeded in the qualifying draw, defeated Sneha Padamata 6-4, 6-3.
The other overease players featuring the qualifying round, Hong Kong’s Ho Ching Wu and China’s Wang Xi-Yao, who are both seeded, as well as Pakistan’s Ushan Suhail and Sadafmoh Tolibova, Belarus, joined Kamowam Buayam in the second round.
Two rounds would be played in the qualifying event Sunday and four players will make it to the 32-woman main draw.
