Dubai, July 25 (Inditop.com) Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara has replaced Gautam Gambhir at the top of the Reliance Mobile International Cricket Council’s rankings for Test batsmen following his match-saving performance in the third Test against Pakistan in Colombo.

The 31-year-old compiled 130 not out in the second innings Friday to go with his 45 the first innings that lifted him above Gambhir.

Pakistan skipper Younus Khan dropped four places from second to sixth.

There has been quite a bit of movement in the top-10 with Shivnarine Chanderpaul of the

West Indies and Australia’s Michael Clarke both benefiting from Younus’s slip down the order.

Chanderpaul is at No.3 followed by Pakistan’s Mohd Yousuf and Clarke.

Shoaib Malik of Pakistan gains seven places to 38th position following his century in the Colombo Test.

Danish Kaneria marked an impressive return to form in Colombo and gained three places in the rankings for Test bowlers. He is in 16th position now.

The bowling list is still headed by South Africa’s Dale Steyn with Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka at second and Australian Mitchell Johnson at third place.

There was no change in the top five rankings for Test all-rounders with Kallis still leading the way from Johnson of Australia and New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori.
