Chennai, July 31 (IANS) Local challenger Ajai Selvaraj upset fifth seeded Korean Suk-Young Jeong of South Korea 7-6 (2), 6-3, and joined fellow-Indians Jeevan Nedunchezhyan, Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan and Vijay Sundar Prasanth in the third round of the GNC ITF Futures men’s tennis tournament here Tuesday.
Jeong, winner and finalist in the two previous legs of the series, appeared jaded, especially after losing the first set tie-break while Selvaraj maintained the tempo and aggression to run out creditable winner.
