Chennai, Sep 21 (IANS) Indian cricket board president N. Srinivasan said Friday the Mumbai police charge-sheeting his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan in the IPL-6 spot-fixing scandal had nothing to do with him and he would not step down.

“I am not disqualified from my position. If Gurunath has done something right or wrong, the law will take its course and decide,” Srinivasan said after Meiyappan was named in the charge-sheet along with actor Vindoo Dara Singh and Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf.
Srinivasan, who has announced that he will seek another term as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief, said it would not be appropriate to talk on the corruption case as the matter was in Supreme Court.
“The entire matter is before the Supreme Court. I have not seen the charge-sheet. Unfortunately, the press is trying to create an issue out of this. I don’t go back to what I’ve said. I am not disqualified. Let the court decide,” he added.
