Kolkata, Aug 30 (IANS) Argentine midfielder Jose Sosa had some difficult moments on way to Kolkata for the Sep 2 FIFA Official International Friendly game with Venezuela when he was detained at the Dubai airport for hours due to a visa problem.

The match organisers said as Sosa was denied a visa on arrival, his journey had to be rescheduled.

The player, who represents Metalist Kharkiv of Ukraine, was slated to land here at 3.15 p.m., but he would now come around midnight with another batch of Argentina footballers.

‘After we heard he was detained at the airport for hours, we managed to contact him. He will join his other teammates who would come via Dubai from Frankfurt,’ said Bhaswar Goswami, executive director of event promoters Celebrity Management Group.
