New Delhi, Oct 3 (Inditop.com) Kobad Ghandy, a senior leader of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) who was arrested here last month, has been provided with medical aid at a hospital, Delhi Police told a city court Saturday.

Submitting Ghandy’s medical records before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja, police sasid he was getting the best available medical aid at the G.B. Pant Hospital.

Police said the medical records also show that he had stayed in the capital under fictitious names.

“As per the medical records recovered from him, Ghandy was getting treatment at the Sitaram Bhartia hospital here, though he was registered as Narsee Patel,” the public prosecutor informed the court.

The court was hearing an application filed by Ghandy alleging that he was being denied basic medical aid in Tihar jail.

The 63-year-old London-educated Ghandy was arrested here Sep 21 though his party says he was picked up by police four days earlier on Sep 17. The top Maoist leader is in judicial custody till Oct 6.
