Raipur, Jan 6 (Inditop.com) Maoist militants killed a tribal civilian on suspicion of acting as a police informer while in another incident an additional superintendent of police and a special police officer (SPO) were injured in a mine attack in Chhattisgarh Wednesday.

Both the incidents took place in the state’s restive Dantewada district under Bastar region, some 400 km south of state capital Raipur.

“Civilian Kunjam Muya of village Jaggawaram who was abducted by rebels Tuesday, was found dead at a roadside in village Mariaguda,” Amresh Mishra, district Superintendent of Police, Dantewada, told IANS, adding he was killed on charges of spying for police.

In another incident, at a forested village Gorkha under Bhejji police station, G.S. Marawi, the additional superintendent of police of Dantewada and an SPO Bhunesh sustained serious injuries when they stepped on a pressure-mine planted by Maoists.

Police authorities in Dantewada are trying to airlift by helicopter the two injured to Raipur for urgent medical attention.
