The incident brought back memories of US Airways’s 2009 accident in which an A320 aircraft lost both its engines after it flew into a flock of migratory Canadian geese, which led to the famous Hudson river ‘ditching’. Lesser flamingos, smallest of the species, weigh up to 1.5kg & fly at 40-60kmph when migrating long distances such as the journey, say, from Uran to Kutch, said Mrugank Prabhu, scientist at Bombay Natural History Society.
