BJP has minimized the significance of wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joining Congress, asserting that anyone can participate in politics in a democracy. They highlighted that the case against former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is sub judice and stressed the need to keep sports and politics distinct.
