Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with newly elected UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Saturday following Starmer’s assumption of office on Friday after the Labour Party secured 412 out of 650 parliamentary seats in the general election. They discussed working towards the long-pending India-UK Free Trade Agreement. Modi extended his congratulations to Starmer for the Labour Party’s victory. Both leaders expressed commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and agreed to advance the Free Trade Agreement between India and the UK.
