A woman in Kolkata alleged that a man molested her at gunpoint after breaking into her house at Lake Gardens on July 15. She sought justice from the Calcutta High Court, accusing the police of inaction. Justice Rajarshi Bharadwaj ordered the case to be supervised by an assistant commissioner, with progress to be reported on August 23. The woman, married to a bureaucrat, claimed the man had previously attempted to molest her when she returned home late. She managed to escape, but he returned the next morning with a gun and assaulted her.
