A 45-year-old lecturer, Atmaja Kasat, was hit by an SUV in Virar West, resulting in her death. The 24-year-old driver, suspected to be drunk, was caught by locals and handed over to the police. The driver, Shubham Patil, has been charged with multiple offences, including culpable homicide and rash driving.
