The ministry of home affairs initiated the issuance of the initial batch of citizenship certificates in accordance with the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. Union home secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla presented citizenship certificates to the first 14 individuals in New Delhi. The home secretary extended congratulations to the recipients and underscored the key provisions of the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024 during the citizenship granting process.
