Perched at an altitude of 8,887ft near Jalori Jot, a mountain pass (10,800 feet) connecting Kullu with Shimla, the village of around 350 inhabitants from 60 households scattered across a 3km area stands at the forefront of a battle over a proposed all-weather tunnel’s route. The crux of their protest lies in the selection of the tunnel’s alignment, as residents fear the consequences of altering the route.
