Isro’s Landslide Atlas of India-2023 revealed that 13 out of 14 districts in Kerala are among the top 50 most vulnerable to landslides in India, with Wayanad ranking 13th. The atlas ranked areas based on landslide density and population exposure. Rainfall thresholds for triggering landslides were also discussed, emphasizing the significant socio-economic impact, especially in the Western Ghats region.
