Heavy rainfall on Wednesday led to the washing away of the Mothiramalai-Kuttiyar land bridge in Tamil Nadu’s Kanniyakumari district. Bus services to more than 15 hill villages were disrupted, and tourists were prohibited from accessing Thirparappu waterfalls due to flood-like conditions. Warnings have been issued by the weather department for southern regions and districts in the Western Ghats.
