Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman responded to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s claim that her microphone was muted during a Niti Aayog meeting in the national capital on Saturday. Rebuffing the TMC leader’s allegation that her “microphone was switched off after five minutes,” the Union minister labeled the charge as “completely false.” Sitharaman criticised the Bengal chief minister for constructing a narrative based on “falsehood” and called it “unfortunate.”
