Erode resident Murugesan was duped of 2.9 lakh and another 30,000 by scammers using fake documents involving Amitabh Bachchan, government offices, and a woman posing as a CBI officer. He lodged a complaint with the PMO after realizing the fraud. A CBI case is now registered under various IPC and IT Act sections.
