Mexico City, June 28 (IANS/EFE) Gunmen killed nine people at a drug rehabilitation centre in northern Mexico, while five others died in drug-related violence in the country, officials said.

The gunmen entered a drug treatment centre in Gomez Palacio, a city in the northern state of Durango, Saturday and opened fire, killing nine people and wounding five others, police spokesmen told Efe.

In another incident, five people including a woman were gunned down early Saturday at a bar in Ciudad Juarez, a border city in the northern state of Chihuahua, the report said.

Ciudad Juarez, where more than 5,000 people have been murdered since 2008, has been plagued by drug-related violence for years.
