Moscow, Sep 9 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A total of 200 servicemen from Peru will study in Russia’s universities according to an agreement between the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.

“There are interesting directions of possible joint work – power industry, fishery, military and technical cooperation, education,” Putin told his Peruvian counterpart Ollanta Humala on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
“Eighty-nine students from Peru are currently studying in Russia. We have coordinated the training of over 200 servicemen in Russian defence ministry universities,” Putin said.
Putin also said he hopes bilateral relations and trade will reach a new level. Russia-Peru trade in 2011 nearly doubled on 2010 to reach $726 million.
