San Juan, Oct 23 (IANS/EFE) Agents with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement have seized 215 kg of cocaine in the coastal municipality of Guayanilla in Puerto Rico.

The operation, which took place last Friday with the cooperation of the Puerto Rican police, resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old man who is now being held in the Guaynabo Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting judicial proceedings, said the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Monday in a statement .
The ICE communique says that the drug shipment consisted of 175 packets of cocaine with a street value of about $5 million.
The find came after a Customs and Border Protection aircraft on a routine patrol spotted a suspicious boat near the coast off the city of Ponce and reported that fact to ICE and the local police, who moved in to investigate.
