Baghdad, April 4 (DPA) At least 25 people were killed and 50 injured as three loud explosions shook Baghdad Sunday morning, al-Arabiya TV reported.

The Dubai-based al-Arabiya satellite news network added that one of the blasts was near the Iranian embassy.

Footage showed people running near Mansour hotel, which is near the heavily-fortified Green Zone, carrying the injured away from the pillars of smoke.

The other two blasts were close to the Egyptian embassy and the German ambassador’s house, the TV channel added.

Witnesses told DPA that ambulances, police cars and US military helicopters were racing to the scene.

At least 12 people were injured in three smaller bomb attacks Thursday morning, Baghdad’s Aswat al-Iraq news agency reported.

Tensions are high in the country as politicians wrangle to form a government following tight, and contested, parliamentary election results.
