Moscow, March 29 (Inditop.com/RIA Novosti) At least 26 people were killed Monday as a powerful explosion hit a central Moscow metro station during rush hour, the emergencies ministry said.

The explosion, which occurred at the Lubyanka station, killed 15 people in the train and 11 on the platform, the spokesperson said, adding that the blast occurred while the train was in the tunnel.

Doctors said that a number of injured were in a serious condition.
