Tokyo, Jan 1 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale Sunday jolted the Izu islands of Japan but there were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.
The tremor occurred at 5.27 GMT, Xinhuanet.com reported quoting the US Geological Survey.
The epicentre was at 31.4 degrees north latitude and 138.6 degrees east longitude.
