Washington, April 10 (IANS) Five suspects in the 9/11 terror attack will be arraigned in court May 5, the US Defense Department said Tuesday.
The arraignment of alleged mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others will be held at the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Xinhua reported citing a Pentagon statement.
The prosecution said the five suspects were responsible for the planning and execution of the terror attacks in New York, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, Sep 11, 2001, that resulted in the loss of 2,976 lives.
The charges range from terrorism, hijacking aircraft, conspiracy and murder in violation of the law of war to attacking civilians and civilian objects, intentionally causing serious bodily injury and destruction of property in violation of the law of war.
