London, May 31 (IANS) A man in Britain who left a toy stuffed tiger in a field, sparking fears of a real tiger, said: ‘Never in my wildest dreams did I think of the chaos it would cause.’
Kevin Blunden had found the stuffed tiger near a disused garage and he had taken it to the field for his five-year-old pet dog to play with, The Sun reported.
He later left the stuffed tiger behind.
People last week raised an alarm after they ‘saw the tiger’ crouching in the grass.
It led to police marksmen, zoo staff and a helicopter being scrambled and a golf course being evacuated in Hedge End, Hants.
‘Never in my wildest dreams did I think of the chaos it would cause,’ Kevin was quoted as saying.
‘My mates think it is hilarious and I see the funny side but it was a waste of police time and resources. I can’t believe it took so many officers and a helicopter to come to the same conclusion.’
The downdraft from the chopper blew the toy over.
