New Delhi, May 14 (Inditop.com) Vice President Hamid Ansari will next month go on a week-long visit to the Czech Republic and Croatia, East European economies which are recovering from recession.

Ansari will go to Prague and Zagreb June 6-11, official sources said. The visit is expected to intensify trade and investment between India and these East European countries.

The vice-president is also likely to seek the support of the Czech Republic and Croatia for India’s candidature for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council 2011-2012.

The Czech economy is expected to recover from the recession this year and is looking at attracting more investment from India, the second fastest growing economy in the world.

Croatia, which hopes to join the EU around 2012, suffered major contraction of its economy last year. The country’s economy is expected to record a mild recovery from the recession this year.
