New York, March 4 (IANS) Here comes an App that aims to flush public urination!
To help the estimated one million people who attend Mardis Gras parades in New Orleans each year in March, entrepreneurs Max Gaudin and Travis Laurendine have created ‘Airpnp’.
Residents and businesses along parade routes can rent out their bathrooms or portable toilets for a small fee of $2 to $5 per visit.
“All of those people are filling up with beer and that needs to go somewhere ultimately,” Gaudin was quoted as saying.
“We are doing a public service by trying to ensure less people are peeing all over the streets of New Orleans,” he added.
Since its launch last month, over 1,200 people have signed up and the App has been shared more than 3,000 times on Facebook.
Mardi Gras, meaning ‘Fat Tuesday’, is an annual carnival in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is a season of parades, balls (some of them masquerade balls) and king cake parties.
