Islamabad, Jan 21 (IANS) Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif vowed to continue efforts to wipe out terrorism and extremism from the country, the local media reported on Thursday.

Following Wednesday’s horrific attack on Bacha Khan University in the northwest Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province the top civilian and military leadership affirmed that the nation’s determination to counter the menace had not been affected by the strike in Charsadda district of the province, Dawn reported.
“The prime minister and the chief of army staff agreed that the war against terrorism and extremism will continue with full might,” said a statement issued by the prime minister’s office after the later talked on phone with the army chief from Zurich, in Switzerland, to discuss the attack.
Prime minister Sharif and Gen Sharif resolved that the fight against militancy, which enjoyed the nation’s support, would be taken to its logical end of elimination of terrorism.
The prime minister directed the security agencies to go after the patrons, financiers, handlers and planners of the attack.
