Beijing, Nov 22 (IANS) A four−month−old girl in China has undergone a surgery to remove her six−centimetre tail, a media report said.

The baby, diagnosed with spina bifida at the Sun Yat−sen Memorial Hospital in Guangdong province, was born with a hairless, soft, pink tail.
Spina bifida, a birth defect which affects the spinal column, can result from genetic or environmental factors, the China Daily reported, quoting local media reports.
The tail may be related to the disease, although no previous cases have been reported, Deng Xiaogeng, director of the paediatric surgery department, was quoted as saying.
