Thimphu, June 25 (IANS) Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will auction off all the gifts received from visiting guests, if the country’s Anti-Corruption Commission permits. The money collected will be donated to a charity fund.

The announcement was made during the launch of the national integrity and anti-corruption strategy (NIAS) here, the Himalayan nation’s official newspaper Kuensel reported.
A source from the Prime Minister’s Office said gifts presented to Tobgay that would be auctioned include both “big and small”.
The source, however, could not share details of the gifts the prime minister received, saying all the gifts are being stored.
The prime minister has also not identified the charity which will benefit from his gesture.
