London, June 21 (IANS) Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is terrified about directing the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games because he thinks it is a tough job to please the British.

‘I didn’t even sleep on it. I just said, ‘I’ll do it!’ (But) the British are difficult to please,’ contactmusic.com quoted Boyle as saying.

The opening ceremony will be held July 27 in the new 80,000-seat Olympic stadium and Boyle is planning to use the spectators in the arena as part of his show.

‘There’ll be expensive toys and a sound system but, when you think about it, something like the Mexican wave is amazing, isn’t it? That’s just using people in the stadium…They’ll have their voices and their feet, although it’s a concrete floor so they might not make much of an impression. But they can clap,’ he said.
