Rio De Janeiro, June 3 (IANS) Midfielder Willian has said Brazil have improved significantly in certain aspects of football since the arrival of coach Dunga.
“We are gelling more and more. Dunga arrived with his own way of working, with a very different approach to training. Today, the Selecao can play with the ball and without the ball, which is very important,” Willian was quoted as saying by goal.com on Wednesday.
“We all know our position and the shape of the team.”
The 26-year-old also believes this Brazil side is not the same as the one which lost 1-7 to Germany in the World Cup semi-final a year back and says the change is very evident from the performances they have put up since the quadrennial event.
“We have seen enough in the few games Brazil have played since the World Cup,” he said.
“I’m feeling very confident, I owe that to the coach who put all his confidence in me. I’m now feeling relaxed in the squad and I’m in top shape,” he said.
Brazil have won eight consecutive matches since the arrival of coach Dunga after the humiliating loss at the 2014 World Cup in their own backyard. Willian added Brazil would go into the Copa America, staring on June 12, with a lot of confidence.
“The Selecao has to enter every competition thinking about nothing other than victory. That is our goal this month.”
