London, March 31 (IANS) A British couple has been charged with animal cruelty after they crammed 56 large dogs and 13 other animals in a dirty four-room house.
Inspectors from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) said they were “swamped by a sea of dogs” in the house in Somerset, The Sun reported.
The dogs included huskies, German shepherds and rottweilers.
There were also three cats, six birds and four chinchillas.
James Hood, 40, and his wife Nicola, 31, have admitted animal cruelty charges at a hearing at the Taunton Magistrates’ Court. They have not been sentenced yet.
