London, Sep 1 (IANS) Renowned journalist and broadcaster David Frost died Sunday of a suspected heart attack while on board a cruise ship, the BBC reported. He was 74.

“His family are devastated and ask for privacy at this difficult time. A family funeral will be held in the near future and details of a memorial service will be announced in due course,” it cited from a statement from Frost’s family.
In his long and an illustrious career, Frost gained international acclaim for The Frost Report, a television series and for his interviews with former US president Richard Nixon.
British Prime Minister David Cameron condoled the death.
“My heart goes out to David Frost’s family. He could be – and certainly was with me – both a friend and a fearsome interviewer,” he said in a message, reported the BBC.
