Chennai, Sep 7 (Inditop.com) Dehumidifier manufacturer Bry-Air (Asia) is looking to expand its Asian footprint by acquiring companies in Japan.
“We have been exporting to Japan in small numbers, now we have decided to attack the $30 million market there. We are open to acquisitions as well as marketing tie-ups there for our dehumidifiers,” Bry-Air (Asia) president Dinesh Gupta told Inditop here Monday.
He said the company is planning to build on its own unit in South Korea.
“Outlay for both the countries will be around $2 million. We will ship out components to Japan and Korea from our plants in India and China,” Gupta said.
With four manufacturing facilities outside India — Malaysia, China, Brazil and the US — Gupta said the company earned Rs.700 million from exports last year.
He said the Asian dehumidifier market is growing in the industrial side and the prospects are bright as agriculture and processed food sector is all set to grow.
“Seed storage sector offers good scope for dehumidifiers. In Mizoram, there is a good market for turmeric drying. Similarly, we see potential in the commercial building segment.”
