London, April 19 (Inditop.com) The repair to a British police car that was damaged by an officer “closing the door with buttock” was 400 pounds, the police has admitted.
Bedfordshire Police gave the detail after a request was made under Freedom of Information for accidents caused by officers while on duty, Daily Express reported Monday.
It spent 179,965 pounds on repairs from 2007 to 2009 following 204 accidents and one crash cost 12,031 pounds after a car on an emergency “left the road”.
A spokesperson said 60 of the accidents took place after officers had parked the vehicles.
“Of the rest, 48 were damaged when responding to 999 calls, eight during a pursuit, one during surveillance and 57 were mainly drivers hitting kerbs or Bollards,” she was quoted as saying.
