Rome, Oct 3 (IANS) Italian Serie A side Chievo confirmed that they had sacked football coach Domenico Di Carlo and Eugenio Corini will take his place to manage the team.

Di Carlo was expelled Tuesday mainly because the side slumped into the relegation zone following five straight defeats, reports Xinhua.
Corini, a former midfielder at Chievo who spent six years with the club as a player, has been handed a contract until June 2013, with an option for a second season.
