Beijing, March 28 (IANS) Three Chinese tourists who bought a piece of stone from a vendor in Turkey are set to go on trial there, accused of smuggling cultural relics.

Robin Du and his wife and mother-in-law went to Turkey from Belgium March 18 as part of a tour, Shanghai Daily reported Wednesday.
They purchased a rectangular stone for 20 euro ($26) outside a scenic area in Antalya.
But when leaving the city, Du was told at the airport that the stone was a cultural relic and cannot be taken out of Turkey.
Du and his family were detained by the police. They had their fingerprints taken, underwent a physical examination and were photographed.
They spent a night in the police station.
