Beijing, Jan 29 (IANS) China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped more than 3 percent in the afternoon session on Friday as the Chinese shares staged a strong rally following plunges in latest trading days.
Earlier, the Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.11 percent down at 2,652.85 points, Xinhua news agency reported. The smaller Shenzhen index opened 0.06 percent lower at 9,077.11 points,
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, climbed 0.09 percent to open at 1,908.26 points.
