Dortmund (Germany), March 28 (IANS) The Chinese women’s team secured its position in the quarterfinals of the world team table tennis championships following a 3-1 victory over Romania here Wednesday.

China’s Ding Ning lost the first set against Bernadette Szocs 6-11, but she quickly bounced back and won the next three sets, 11-7, 11-2, 11-4, before her teammates Guo Yue and Li Xiaoxia overwhelmed their respective rivals without losing a set.
“I did not play well in the first set. I am not familar with the way she plays, so I lost quite a lot at the beginning. Afterwards I found my form and displayed the normal level,” Ding told Xinhua after the match.
